Indrani Mukherjea's driver turns approver, CBI court grants him pardon
On 20 June, a special CBI court pardoned Indrani Mukherjea's former driver Shyamvar Rai, and also made him an approver in the Sheena Bora murder case. According to reports, the driver will reveal everything related to the murder case before the court, including details about his role as well as that of others, in the heinous crime.
It was Shyamvar Rai's arrest on 21 August 2015, that helped the police stumble upon Sheena Bora's murder. He appealed to the CBI court on 11 May, and sought pardon, expressing his desire to cooperate in the case and turn approver.
Shyamvar Rai is Indrani Mukherjea's former driver, the prime accused in the case. Earlier in May, in a two-page letter to the CBI, he had informed the CBI court about his intention to reveal all the details of his role, and that of others, in Sheena Bora's murder.
