Independence Day 2020: How to send e-greeting cards to family, friends on historic day

Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August ever year. On the 74th Independence Day, the whole of India will club together to mark this significant day.

In order to spread the message of prosperity, happiness, and remember the brave hearts who sacrificed themselves for the nation, send e-greetings to your loved ones.


Greetings are an expressive way of communicating with colleagues and friends on special occasions and days of national importance. Learn how to send the e-greeting cards.

Design your e-greetings at  egreeting.gov.in.

You can design your own e-greeting card using the given tools to edit or create an original canvas or edit the existing cards. You can also save a card after editing for future use.

Steps to send e-greeting on this Independence Day: 

Step 1: Visit egreetings.gov.in

Step 2: Then on the top right tap ‘login’.

Step 3: You will be directed to the login page.

Step 4: Now, select one option to log in to the eGreetings portal from the options available on-screen.

Step 5: If you choose to log in using government credentials, follow the steps:

* Enter your NIC/Gov email ID or UID.

* Enter your password.

* Enter the ‘captcha value’.

* Click on ‘sign in’.

Step 6: To log in/register to MyGov Portal:

* Click on ‘new user register here’, you will be redirected to MyGov portal (https://auth.mygov.in/ ).

Step 7: Fill various essential details.

Step 8: You can log in with social media account like Facebook, Twitter and Google plus (+).

* Click on the desired social media account icon. For Ex- logging in using Facebook account.

* Fill login credentials of Facebook in the Email id/password details.

Step 9: Now, manage ‘my account’ after login.

Step 10: Now, you can tap on ‘celebration’ to see a drop-down menu consisting of a list of the events and festivals.

Step 11: Choose ‘Independence Day’ on the list to view e-cards.

Step 12: Choose to share, edit or send.

Step 13: If you choose to edit, you will be directed to ‘create a custom ecard’ page. Here you can choose to resize, crop, colour or add stickers, etc.

After you are finished with customising, tap ‘save’.

Step 14: Then, you can further customise by adding music, changing themes, font, message, etc.

Step 15: Add a slogan to your card from various Ministries.

Step 16: Now, click on ‘next’ button to proceed further.

Step 17: Add sender details. There are 3 options available.

* Add the full name and email address in the text box given by selecting add recipients.

* You can also add multiple lists of names and email addresses to send a card by clicking on add row and enter the details as prompted.

Step 18: If you have to send your card later, then choose the option to schedule your card as per your requirement.

Step 19: Tap on ‘next’ to proceed further.

Step 20: At this step, you can choose to change the theme and font style if you do not like the older one.

Step 21: If you feel you like not sending the card, then you can choose to tap ‘discard’ to get back to the home page.

Step 22: Accept the terms and conditions to proceed.

Step 23: Please check the box to proceed.

Step 24: Then, click on the ‘send’ button.

Step 25: You will see a confirmation message on the screen.

If you wish to send another card, you can click on ‘send another card’.

You can send e-greetings with a personal message from this site on birthdays or festival by adding the details.
