Illegal Constructions of 6 Criminals Demolished in MP's Ujjain

Ujjain: In a joint operation carried out on Thursday, the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) and the police administration successfully demolished the illegal constructions belonging to six listed criminals, according to officials. 


The coordinated removal drive specifically targeted areas falling within the jurisdiction of the Chimanganj Mandi police station and Mahakal police station in the district. Prior to commencing the operation, all teams from the police, administration, and municipal corporation were briefed in the police control room, ensuring effective collaboration among the various entities involved.

To ensure comprehensive coverage and effective monitoring, drones and a high-rise system were deployed. 

This technological assistance aided the authorities in closely observing the entire area. As a result of these efforts, the illegal constructions of six criminals involved in criminal activities were successfully demolished. Furthermore, the Municipal Corporation assisted in measuring the illegal encroachment of three other individuals.

ASP Akash Bhuria stated, "On the direction of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to take strict legal action against criminals and goons in the entire state, illegal constructions of six criminals were identified under the Chimanganj Mandi police station and Mahakal police station area limits. There were various cases registered against them in different police stations of the district under various sections."

The operation involved a significant workforce, with approximately 150 officers and employees from the police force, as well as teams from the Municipal Corporation and Revenue Department, actively participating in the action. 

The combined efforts of these entities aimed to tackle the issue of illegal constructions and enforce the law effectively.

One of the criminals targeted during the demolition had been accused of the heinous crime of raping a 9-year-old girl. The removal drive ensured that his illegal construction was removed, thereby taking a significant step towards justice and safeguarding the community.
