Himachal Election Results: Watch workers celebrate as early trends suggest victory for Congress

Congress workers celebrated in Delhi

Congress workers started celebrating at the party’s Delhi office after the grand-old party crossed the majority mark of 35 seats in Himachal Pradesh amid the ongoing counting of the votes in the state.

The workers burst firecrackers and shouted slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.

As per the latest trends by Election Commission till 1.45 pm, the Congress party is leading in 36 seats of the 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP is leading in 20 seats, while independent candidates are leading in 2 seats.

Meanwhile, BJP is cementing its lead in the Gujarat Assembly polls with 151 seats, while Congress places in second spot with a lead on 19 seats. The Aam Adami Party is leading on 5 seats, as per the data shared on Election Commision’s offial website till 1.15 pm.

The counting of votes for Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh began at 8 am on Thursday and is currently underway.
