Harbhajan Singh backs Gautam Gambhir over Atishi Marlena controversy
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh on Friday came in support of his former team-mate Gautam Gambhir after he was accused of misogyny by Aam Aadmi party candidate Atishi Marlena. Atishi along with Manish Sisodia held a press conference on Thursday accusing Bhartiya Janata party candidate Gautam Gambhir of distributing derogatory and casteist pamphlets against her.
Harbhajan Singh took to his official Twitter handle to back Gambhir and said that he can never talk ill for any woman. Harbhajan wrote, “I am shocked to note yesterday’s events involving @GautamGambhir. I know him well and he can never talk ill for any woman. Whether he wins or loses is another matter but the man is above all this.”

Gautam Gambhir has denied Atishi’s allegation and challenged Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi and Sisodia to prove their claim and if found guilty he will withdraw his candidature.
Atishi Marlena had earlier filed a criminal complaint against cricketer turned politician for holding to voter ID cards. Gautam Gambhir and Atishi Marlena are fighting the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Delhi east constituency.
As Delhi goes for polls on May 12, political parties are leaving no stone unturned to win the election. The results will be announced on May 23.
