The gunfight between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pampore town ended on Monday, with the death toll standing at seven - including two terrorists.
The terrorists were holed up inside the multi-storied government complex of Entrepreneurship Development Institute on the Srinagar Jammu National Highway.
In a press conference, CRPF Director General Prakash Misra said that the Lashker-e-Taiba terror outfit appears to be behind the deadly attack.
The deceased included Captain Tushar Mahajan of the 9 Para regiment, Captain Pawan Kumar of the 10 Para Regiment, Lance Naik Commando Om Prakash of the 9 Para Regiment and two CRPF head constables, RK Rana, Bhola Singh and civilian EDI employee Abdul Gani Mir.
The Army, CRPF and J&K Police launched a joint operation on Saturday afternoon.
