Former Union minister Arun Jaitley to be cremated at Nigambodh Ghat today

The former finance minister of India, Arun Jaitley passed away on 24th August and the whole nation is saddened on his death. Now the mortal remains of Jaitley will be cremated at Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat on Sunday. The mortal remains were brought to his residence in South Delhi on Saturday from AIIMS, where he took his last breath.

"From his residence, Jaitley's body will be taken to the BJP headquarters for party workers and the public to pay their last respects. His final journey will begin from BJP headquarters to the Nigambodh Ghat, where last rites will be performed," BJP working president JP Nadda had said.

He also added that PM Modi had a call with Jaitley's family members and the whole BJP was with them in the hour of grief. President Ram Nath Kovind had also paid tributes to the former finance minister of Jaitley at latter's residence.

BJP leaders like Amit Shah, Jitender Singh, Dr Harsh Vardhan were among those who paid last respect to the leader. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also tributed to the former finance minister.
