Karnataka Man Arrested for Killing Live-in Partner

Bengaluru (Karnataka): In a distressing incident police in South Bengaluru have taken a man into custody after he allegedly used a pressure cooker to fatally assault his live-in partner, Deva.

The accused, identified as Vaishnav, was apprehended following a police search and is now undergoing interrogation.

Background and Couple's History
Deva, a 24-year-old native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, had been cohabiting with Vaishnav, originally from Kollam, Kerala, for two years. Their connection dates back to their shared college days. Vaishnav worked as a marketing executive while the couple rented an apartment in Begur.

Fleeing Suspect Located and Nabbed for Questioning
After allegedly committing the crime, Vaishnav evaded authorities, prompting a search by the Bengaluru Police. His capture was expedited as the police tracked him down, bringing the investigation into its next phase.

Unsettled Disputes in Relationship
Neighbours attested to the couple's frequent heated arguments, shedding light on the discord within their relationship. Notably, neither Deva nor Vaishnav had lodged any formal complaints before.

Police Account and Continuing Probe
CK Baba, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Bengaluru, provided insight: "The incident occurred around 5 pm in Mico layout, within Begur police station's jurisdiction. Sharing the same residence for two years, both hailed from Kerala. Recent suspicions held by Vaishnav led to mounting tensions, culminating in Sunday's violent episode during cooking. A murder case has been filed (section 302), and we're actively interrogating the suspect."
