Delhi’s air quality to improve ‘significantly’ after Jan 23; rain likely, check full forecast
The air quality in the national capital, which is currently in the poor category, would significantly improve after January 23, said the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on January 20.
According to the IMD, there is a chance that the air quality in Delhi will improve as rain and high wind speed are expected in the coming days, which will wipe out air pollutants and filter the air.

Today, the air quality has improved to the poor category, as a minimum temperature of 10.6°C was recorded in Delhi. The minimum temperature recorded was 3.6 degrees above the normal.
The rise in night temperatures in Delhi was expected to continue over the next six days under the influence of two western disturbances in the hilly region.
A western disturbance is going to impact the western Himalayan region from today to January 26. The impact will be more intense than the recent western disturbance and will affect the plains of northwest India from January 23 to 25.
As per the Central Pollution Control Board, the hourly air quality index (AQI) was 266 at 9 am. Yesterday, the average 24-hour AQI was 338 in the very poor category.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
