
Delhi Police, on 16 November, claimed that they have traced down the auto-driver who picked up missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed from JNU campus and took him to Jamia Millia Islamia.
A leading daily quoted Joint Commissioner of Police, Ravindra Yadav as saying, "We have traced the driver of the auto-rickshaw who Ahmed hired on October 15 from Jawaharlal Nehru University to reach the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia."

However, the identity of the auto driver will be kept anonymous. Meanwhile, police raised the award money from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh for information about the student.

Najeeb, a first year MSc Biotechnology student, went missing from the JNU campus on October 15 after a tiff allegedly with members of the RSS student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
