New Delhi: In a shocking turn of events, a 19-year-old man named Vicky has been arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly strangling his wife, Sapna (23), to death and burying her body in a forest near Ashok Vihar.

The incident occurred on December 26, and the arrest took place over a month later.

Crime Details

Vicky, under the influence of alcohol, had a heated argument with Sapna. Subsequently, he strangled her to death and, with the assistance of his brother, buried her body in the forest near Ashok Vihar. The police were unaware of the incident until Sapna's mother reported both of them missing on January 25.

Discovery of the Body
The body was discovered on February 8 when a dog got stuck in a pit at the same location where Vicky had buried his wife's body. While rescuing the dog, the police uncovered Sapna's body. Initially unidentified, her identity was established through matching missing reports, leading to a formal investigation.

Arrest and Confession
Utilizing technical surveillance and human intelligence, the police traced Vicky as the primary suspect. During interrogation, he confessed to the murder, revealing the troubled history of his relationship with Sapna. They had previously lost a child to anaemia, leading to frequent fights. Vicky admitted to escalating tensions on December 26, resulting in him strangling Sapna.

The police have registered a case of murder against Vicky and are actively searching for his brother, who aided in burying the body. There are suspicions that other family members may be involved in the crime, and an ongoing investigation is underway to uncover further details.
