Chhattisgarh: Doordarshan cameraman, 2 cops killed in an attacked by Naxals in Aranpur in Dantewada

A Doordarshan cameraman and two cops were attacked by Naxals in Dantewada's Aranpur in poll-bound Chattisgarh. Doordarshan cameraman  Achutyanand Sahu, Police personnel Rudrapratao and one other cop who were attacked by Naxals in Dantewada's Aranpur have been dead.

According to reports, two security personnel have also lost their lives in the attack by Naxals in Dantewada's Aranpur. Two security personnel who were injured brought to the hospital. Two security personnel and a DD cameraman lost their lives in the attack.

Today our patrolling party was ambushed by Naxals in Aranpur. Two of our personnel were martyred, and a DD cameraman was also injured and later succumbed. Two more personnel injured," said DIG P Sundarraj.

The attack took place in the forests in Aranpur in Dantewada. "Our party had gone to the area for patrolling. The Doordarshan crew was with them," P Sunder Raj, DIG, Naxal Operation, said.

"Those killed were identified as Sub Inspector Rudra Pratap, Assistant Constable Mangalu and DD News cameraman Achyutanand from Delhi," Deputy Inspector General (anti-Naxal operations) Sundarraj P told PTI.
