The Chhattisgarh Assembly election is under its first phase of polling and until 1 pm, the voter turnout has reached 25.15%

Even after an IED blast in Dantewada and some rumour regarding the EVM malfunctioning, people are coming out to vote in their respective constituencies.

The voter turnout will determine the aspect of the anti-incumbency in the state, and in a high sensitive zone, it is tough for the voters to cast their respective votes due to life threat.

The Naxals have boycotted the election and this morning, an IED blast took place in Dantewada.

Earlier, a DD cameraman and 2 security personnel were killed in an ambush with the Naxals. The state has been under tremendous pressure of dealing with the Moaist activities and the election will be a soft target for them to meddle with the democratic process.

The Raman Singh’s government has been in the state since last 15 years and a high rate of anti-incumbency has been prevailing over education, health, development, inflation etc. Narendra Modi government, at the center, has claimed to provide several schemes to the poors and waive off their farm loan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Bilaspur today, said, “I have been told that people in large numbers are casting their votes in the Bastar region. I've faith that people will also vote in large no.s in the 2nd phase of elections. Voters should go by the mantra 'Phele matdaan phir jalpaan.”

The election is a triangular contest between the BJP, Congress, and Ajit Jogi led BSP alliance.
