The 14-year-old Bulandshahr rape survivor has befriended the two counsellors sent by the police. According to Times of India report, the minor has no clue about the ramifications of what she has been through. However, her discomfort is palpable when she is forced to cover her face each time a politician comes to meet her and her mother.

Whether as a consequence of the trauma that she has had to undergo, or otherwise, the girl maintains, "I want to be an IPS officer."

One of the counsellors told the daily, "We are trying to be empathise with the family so that the survivors feel comfortable enough to share their agony with us."

The mother of the girl said, "All these people will leave after some time. But we want action against all the accused." She added that she would trust people only if they followed up their words with actions and not step back after a while.

The 35-year-old said the only thing she wants is justice. When asked about her health, she said, "Both of us are unwell. I get nauseous and feel feverish. Our wounds will be healed only when they are punished," Times of India quoted her as saying.

"We would have been able to get out from there early if someone had answered the call. It was only after our relative called a friend, who helped us with another phone number, that the police arrived at the spot," the 35-year-old commented on the action taken by the police.

Hurt by UP minister Azam Khan's remark, the survivor said, "If they really want to be of help to us, they should ensure that my daughter's future is secured," she said.
