Nirmala Sitharaman dons simple and elegant rusty brown saree for her fourth budget presentation

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her fourth Union Budget in Parliament today. For her budget presentation, FM Sitharam kept her look simple and elegant. She wears a crisp rusty brown saree with off-white border detailing that spreads throughout the sides.

Her saree was a combination of two colours, brown and red, that hold a deeper significance.
The brown colour signifies dependability, resilience, security, and safety. While the red colour means warmth, power, and love.

She also paired her saree with a white shawl and white face mask. She completed her look with a red bindi and tiny gold earrings along with a golden chain and bangles.

For the second consecutive year, a paperless budget will be presented by the Finance Minister of India.

In the previous year, she first ditched the Budget briefcase for a traditional ‘Bahi Khata’ and last year opted for a Made-in-India Pad.

This year, she was also seen carrying documents in a tablet, which was wrapped in a red-coloured cover with the Emblem of the Government of India.

Ranging from donning gorgeous handloom sarees to ones made out of silk, Sitharaman's outfit choices have made headlines on numerous occasions.

For the uninitiated, the Union Finance Minister's love for subtly elegant handloom and silk sarees is well known, and hence, it's reasonable to assume that her sartorial choices are what distinguishes her appearance.

For the 2021-22 budget presentation, Sitharaman had kept her look. Donning a crisp red-coloured saree with off-white detailing and gold border, she completed her look with a gold chain, bangles, and tiny earrings.

She had carried the documents in a tablet, replacing it with 'bahi khata', due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 2021 was the first time when the Union Budget was delivered in a paperless format.
