Moments after a group of lawyers roughed up JNU students, teachers and some journalists outside Delhi's Patiala Court where JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar was produced, Delhi BJP MLA OP Sharma and his supporters assaulted a student.
A video making the rounds shows the MLA kicking the student, who is affiliated to the CPI(M).
Security personnel were forced to intervene to stop Sharma. After the assault, Sharma told ANI that he would beat up anyone who raises pro-Pakistan slogans. "Jo Zindabad Pakistan ka naara lagayega usko marenge," he said.

This is not the first time that the BJP MLA has courted controversy. Sharma was suspended from the Delhi Assembly for making derogatory remarks against AAP leader Alka Lamba during a discussion on the status of night shelters in the National Capital.
