The Vishwa Hindu Parishad is all set to hold its massive rally 'Dharam Sabha' in Ayodhya to push pressure for the construction of a Ram Temple. Also Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is in the city along with his wife and son Aditya Thackeray.

Thackeray arrived in Ayodhya on Saturday to "wake up the Narendra Modi government from a Kumbhakarna-like slumber" and demanded a date for the commencement of the temple construction.

Security has been tightened in Ayodhya ahead of the separate events of Shiv Sena and VHP being organised in the city today over the matter of Ram Temple.

The VHP claimed that three lakh people, including seers, will attend its Dharm Sabha today. The group is also pushing for an ordinance for the construction of the temple.

A Uttar Pradesh police spokesperson said that 35 senior police officers, in addition to 160 inspectors and 700 constables, have been deployed in Ayodhya.

“We’ve made all the arrangements for the programme (VHP’s dharma sansad). We’ve allotted spaces for parking, the bypass is running smoothly & we’ll ensure it stays like that. ‘Darshan’ will be from the usual routes. We’ll do everything in an organized way,” DIG Ayodhya, Omkar Singh said.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday, asked the Narendra Modi government to wake up from a “Kumbhakarna-like slumber” and declare the date for its construction.

“I have come here to awaken the Kumbhakarana,” he said, indirectly comparing Modi, or his government, to the Ramayana character known for sleeping for months at a stretch. “Today's Kumbhakarna has been sleeping for the past four years," he said.
