Assembly Election Results 2022 Latest Updates: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh while the Aam Aadmi Party appeared set for a massive victory in Punjab as votes were counted for Assembly Elections to five states on Thursday, according to the Election Commission website.
As per current trends, the saffron party was also leading in Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa.
All eyes are on Uttar Pradesh where Yogi Adityanath’s comprehensive win in the Uttar Pradesh finally broke a 36-year-old jinx of the incumbent government being voted twice to power in the state.
The election results have come as a jolt to Congress which could not retain power in Punjab or come to power in Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur.

The state assembly election results were also a shocker for Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh and Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab.
As per election trends at 3 pm, BJP has won three seats and is leading on 243 seats in the 403-member UP assembly. While Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party is leading on 120 seats, BSP on one seat, and Congress on two. The Apna Dal (Soneylal), an ally of BJP, is leading on 11 seats and its other ally NISHAD party on seven seats.
Samajwadi Party's ally RLD is leading on 10 seats and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party on 4 seats.
