Angered mob pelt stones at cops in J&K; injure three

Three police officials, including the Superintendent of Police were injured after people pelted stones at them on 5 August. The incident happened after an accident involving an army vehicle left four civilians injured in Kupwara district of Kashmir.

Police said the Army truck collided with one mini- passenger vehicle at Gund Khuru village of Langate in Handwara area of the district today in which four civilians were injured.

The injured were shifted here for treatment, the police said.

After the incident a mob of about 40-50 people started pelting stones on security forces in which three police personnel - a Deputy Superintendent, a sub-inspector and a constable ? were injured. They have also been taken to a hospital for treatment, the police said.
