Air India issues gag orders to employees to not speak to media

National carrier Air India has issued a notice to the employees for asking them to avoid speaking to the media. Air India issues gag orders to the employees in the light of employees in uniforms have shown the image of the company in a bad light.

"It has been observed that there are instances where employees have interacted with media or posted videos in uniform in Air India aircraft, aired views on electronic and social media portraying the company in bad light despite the fact that time and again instructions have been issued advising employees to refrain from doing so," Air India said in a letter to the employees.

The letter further says that the employees will have to take permission from CMD before reacting on social media. "The employee will make a request through a proper channel which will be processed through personnel department and explicit approval of the CMD will be obtained," the letter further reads.

Air India even said that further action will be taken against the employees who will be found violating the orders. "It may be noted that any violation of above will be viewed very seriously and appropriate action as per applicable service regulations. Instructions would be taken against those found violating the same."

Let us tell you that after Jet Airways employees strike, now other air flight company wants to take any risk. So, Air India already has taken a step to avoid any controversy regarding the air lines.
