3 Farm laws repealed: Political reactions from Rahul Gandhi to Mamata Banerjee

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s big announcement about rolling back the three controversial farm laws were welcomed by all, from party members to the opposition on Friday, 19th November. Congress dubbed the move a win for the farmers.

Haryana minister Anil Vij was one of the first to commend the move. “All farmer organizations should express their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and immediately lift their dharna and go to their homes and start their regular work,” he tweeted.


 

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee went on the congratulated the farmers of the nation and said, "This is YOUR VICTORY!"

A step in the right direction, says Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.

 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also came out and stated the coming generations will never forget the sacrifice of farmers.

The Congress party also made a remark on the government’s decision, saying "Win for farmers".

 

Kisan Ekta Morcha was pleased by the centre's decision and said, "And its a win, after long 1 year".

 

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi put out an old video in which he said the Government will be forced to roll back the three contentious agri laws. He said, "Arrogance bowed down to the Satyagraha of farmers."

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra also came out and called the Prime Minister's decision, "Just the beginning of many more victories for people’s voices."

 

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said: "Sometimes a brute majority isn’t enough."

 

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in a sequence of tweet stated that the decision was taken in view of the upcoming polls.

 

Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav put out a tweet saying: “BJP that works for the rich wanted to cheat the poor farmers with land acquisition and black laws."

 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the decision.
