2 years of Modi: Here's all you need to know about Modi govt's anniversary bash

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes two years in office, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to celebrate Modi's reign in a rather extravagant manner. BJP has scheduled statewide programmes to highlight various achievements of the NDA government led by Narendra Modi within the span of two years.

In a possible bid to express his satisfaction with the government's performance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a song highlighting the measures taken by his government to improve the condition of public in the last two years.

The lyrics of the song titled - 'Mera desh badal raha, aage badh raha hai', list the measures taken by the government like 'Jan Dhan Yojana' and 'Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao'.

Here's how BJP is planning to mark the second anniversary of the Modi-led government:

15 day-long celebration

So, Modi has planned to celebrate his anniversary for over 15 days starting from 26 May. The Prime Minister will address a rally at about 5 pm in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur along with party president Amit Shah. Reportedly, Modi has urged NDA MPs to visit various states to highlight the achievements and initiatives undertaken by the government.

200 press conferences

BJP will also hold about 200 press conferences all over the nation to advertise the Modi government's initiatives and achievements.

731 kg 'laddoo'

Yes. BJP leader Vijay Goel is getting a 731 kg laddoo collectively made by several famous sweet shops in Old Delhi. Goel said that the 731 kg laddoo is the 'prasad' for each day that Modi government has been in power.

'Vikas ki Daud'

The BJP government has also organsied a run for the cause of development in which over 10,000 youth are expected to join at Khajoori Chowk, Bhajanpura.

Massive event at India Gate on 28 May

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and most of his ministers are expected to attend an event at India Gate which will reportedly go on for about five hours. Celebrities from the film fraternity including Anupam Kher, Prasson Joshi, and Madhur Bhandarkar are expected tol be a part of the event.

The government is also organising the event -- 'Zara Muskura Do' (Smile Please) -- which will have several performances and programmes highlighting its "achievements". The show will be telecast across the country on Doordarshan.

Various schemes and programmes, particularly Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India, and Rural Electrification, will be highlighted during the show.
