2 women molested at Bihar short stay home

News Agencies | Updated on: 15 July 2018, 8:54 IST

Two women staying at an NGO-run short stay home in Bihar's Chhapra have accused the watchman of the women shelter house of molestation.

The accused watchman Ram Swaroop Pandit has been arrested by the police.
The matter came to light yesterday during a social audit of shelter home by a state-level committee.

A case has also been registered against the training-cum-rehabilitation officer Saroj Kumari and the director of the stay home Randhir Prasad for their involvement in the incident.
Meanwhile, all 26 women living in the stay home were shifted to a Siwan-based shelter home.

Police have filed a case under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Last month, 11 persons including the proprietor of an NGO, were arrested by the Bihar Police for allegedly sexually assaulting girls living in a short stay home for women in Muzaffarpur town.
