2 killed, over 20 injured in stampede at Mayawati's rally in Lucknow

At least two people were killed and over 20 people were injured after a stampede at Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati's rally in Lucknow.

According to a NDTV report, several children are also reportedly missing after chaos broke out at the rally.

Addressing the rally at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ground in Lucknow, Mayawati had today accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the Centre of spreading hatred and communalism in Uttar Pradesh and failing to keep its promises for the state.

The BSP chief said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government was spreading communalism and hatred in the country and that the cases of crimes against Dalits and minorities had gone up.
