Lawlessness in WB: on-duty policeman shot dead in East Midnapore

An on-duty policeman was shot dead by some miscreants at East Midnapore district in West Bengal on 7 January night.
The incident happened at around 10 pm after a night patrolling team of Mahishadal police station tried to stop some men who were suspiciously moving at the Kapaseria village.
Reportedly, the miscreants tried to escape the police and they fired indiscriminately and threw bombs at the policemen when they were chased.
Nabakumar Hait, a police constable, was shot in this incident and another one was injured. He was rushed to the nearby Tamluk hospital.
Extra police force has been deployed in the area but no one has been arrested so far.
