Vishwa Hindu Parishad calls Vasundhara Raje a 'pseudo secular'

Various organisations protested against the government's move to demolish centuries old temples and shrines in the Jaipur city on 9 July. RSS, VHP and other organisations launched a two hour blockade in the city and warned the state government that it will again take to the streets if no action is taken in seven days.

Lashes out at Vasundhara Raje

Amidst all the chaos, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), an RSS affiliate, attacked Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje for being silent over the whole issue. VHP accused Raje of destroying the Hindu places of worship and called her a 'pseudo secular'.

What is the issue?

VHP is furious because more than 80 temples in Jaipur, including centuries old Rojgareshwa temple, have been demolished or harmed during the metro construction process. This has sparked protests and agitation from different Hindu outfits.

Why is this important?

It shall be noted that organisations like RSS and VHP are like a backbone of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and their volunteers work diligently for promotion of party's ideology and activities. A conflict between the two can become a serious concern for BJP in the state.
