Hitesha Chandranee, who had accused a Zomato delivery executive of allegedly punching her for not accepting her cancelled order, has released a statement after she was booked for framing the delivery boy.

Taking her post to Instagram, Hitesha said that certain celebrities who accused her of being responsible for the incident have ‘hurt’ her.

She said that due to negative comments on social media and statements by several celebrities have made her release the statement.

"The posts made by certain celebrities accusing me of being responsible for the incident have hurt me immensely as these are the people I look up to," Chandranee said in her statement.

Hitesha also said that she has received many calls from various people using repulsive and threatening words against her. “They have threatened my life and have even threatened to harm my family. I am being assaulted online in all platforms, be it email, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram in addition to regular calls and messages,” she said.

Contrary to many reports claiming that she left the city, Hitesha said she has been cooperating with the police and have not left Bengaluru as spread by various quarters.

“Bengaluru is home for me. I just wanted to share the incident but instead, my words have been further twisted.”

Meanwhile, she is waiting for the neutral probe by the investigative agencies that will bring out the truth. She appealed to all the netizens not to express any opinion till the trial is completed by the appropriate legal forum.
