A horrific news was reported from Delhi's Trilokipuri where a 32-year-old woman, who was bound by chains from the bed and was tortured by her husband, was rescued by the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW). The incident came to light after DCW received information about the woman based on the tip-off one of their ground volunteers.

DCW said that the woman who has been married for the last 11 years was held captive by her husband after the birth of their third child. She was bound in the iron chains by the side of the bed in her own house and was brutally tortured by her husband and in-laws. The room where she was held captive had no fan and a foul smell was emanating from it as she was made to lie in her own excreta.

After talking to the woman, she revealed that from the past 6 months she has been chained and every day her husband would come and beat her mercilessly. She also told that she has three minor kids, in which the third one who is a year old lives with her in-laws who live on the first floor of the same building where she lives.
