UP: Man brutally thrashes domestic help, takes her hostage and rapes her

In what was an appalling incident reported from Uttara Pradesh’s Meerut, a woman was brutally thrashed and raped by a man at his house. The woman worked as a domestic help.

The shocking incident happened in Mohalla Ghanshyam Mandi in Meerut. The victim said she was raped while she was working alone at his home.


The victim further alleged that she was also assaulted by the accused when she resisted the sexual assault, according to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.

The woman stated that she managed to escape from his house and reached the police station to report the incident. She has now registered a complaint naming the accused.

The police said that they have lodged a case and are investigating the matter.

As maintained by the woman she was staying at the house of her brother-in-law in Panwari. A youth used to regularly visit her brother-in-law's house. As the woman was in search of job, the youth told her to work at his house.

On 4th February, when the woman was cleaning the house, the youth and his mother went outside the house for work. Seeing herself all by herself in the house, the youth's father dragged her into a room and raped her. He also thrashed her when she resisted.

When she told the youth and his mother about the incident, they asked her to remain silent. They also took her hostage and took away her mobile phone.

Earlier this week, she fled the house and reported the matter to police. Police have now booked the accused under Section 376 (rape) and other relevant sections of Indian Penal Code.

Police have also taken the accused and his son into custody. Police are interrogating the accused.
