On Tuesday, when the girl was playing with other kids in the area, Shanti Devi took her to the well on the pretext of some work and pushed her inside it which culminated to the death of the minor girl.

The minor dead body was spotted by the villagers after a foul smell emanated from the well.

The accused Shanti Devi told the cops that her stepdaughter often used to pass comments on her and pick faults in her household chores, including her cooking. The girl also used to complain to her father and other family members about her.
