Six-year-old girl raped by private tutor, accused nabbed

In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan’s Kota district. A private tutor has been taken into police custody on charges of raping a -six-year-old girl in Kotsuwa area, police said on Monday.

A special court looking into cases filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has remanded accused Abdul Rahim, aged 43, in judicial custody, police added.


The accused used to give private tution in Urdu to children and live in a room given to him by local madrasa. The man is a resident of Kota’s Rampura area, police said.

The parents of the victim got a police complaint registered against the accused at the Digod police station on Sunday, alleging that the accused asked her to stay back at the madrasa while asking the other students to leave after the class on Saturday and subsequently, raped her.

When the girl reached home, she narrated her horrific ordeal to her parents, police said.

The accused was taken into police custody as soon as the case was registered, they said, adding that he has been booked under Indian Penal Code section 376 (rape) and the relevant sections of the POCSO Act.

The minor victim was sent for medical and her statement was recorded under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), police said.
