Shocker: Man kills mother with screwdriver

In a shocking incidennt reported from Maharashtra’s Thane district, a 24-year-old man allegedly murdered his own mother after she refused to give him money, police said on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Vishal Elzend, was jobless and used to often ask for money form his mother, identified as Urmila Elzend, aged 45, for his expenses.

The horrific episode occurred in the Reti Bandar area of Mumbra town on Monday when the accused launched an attack on the woman using a screwdriver in a fit of rage after she denied to give him cash, police said.

The woman sustained grave injuries and drew her last breath on her way to hospital, police added.

The accused was taken into police custody after another son registered a complaint. A case has be lodged against Vishal under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
