Rajasthan: Rape accused out on bail sets woman complainant ablaze

In what was a horrifying incident reported from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, a man accused of raping a woman, set the victim on fire following his release on bail.

The victim suffered 90 per cent burn injuries and was taken to a hospital in Bikaner. Police have taken the accused identified as Pradeep Bishnoi into custody, on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's grandmother.

The victim was staying away from her husband with her grandmother. The victim's grandmother registered a complaint against Pradeep Bishnoi after he saturated the woman with kerosene and set her ablaze.

The ishocking ncident was captured in a CCTV camera installed outside the grandmothers' home.

According to the victim’s grandmother, the accused barged into her house and locked the room where her son was sleeping and shouted to call the woman he raped two years ago.

When the victim came out of her room, he poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze, the grandmother stated. Two years ago, the victim had lodged a police complaint against the accused for raping her. The accused was later released on bail.
