Punjab: Woman loses three fingers after robbers attack her with swords

A woman left screaming after she lost her three fingers in the attack by robbers in Punjab on Friday evening. The shocking incident took place in Daba’s Sundar Nagar locality in Punjab.
According to the reports, robbers attacked with swords and snatched her gold ornaments after barging into her residence.

The brave woman didn’t let them take her jewels easily as she continued to fight against the robbers. In a bid to rescue herself, she held the sword and lost three fingers of her left hand. The victim has also sustained injuries in her feet.


The victim has been identified as Rajinder Kaur has filed a case against the accused men. In her complaint, she mentioned that on Friday evening at around 4 pm, the robbers entered the house when she was alone. The three robbers barged in a victim’s house with swords.

One of the members attempted to snatch her gold earrings but she put all her force to fight against them.

Later, the accused targeted her with swords which she held while defending herself. During the confrontation, three fingers of the woman got sliced off.

A woman also claimed that after snatching the gold earrings, the accused fled from the spot but she managed to grab one of them. Following this, robbers attacked at her with sharp-edged weapons and run away, reports in TOI.

Later, a woman called her husband and relatives who live nearby. The victim rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Later, she has been referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Police probing case in connection with an argument with neighbour

According to Inspector Pavittar Singh, one of the victim’s relatives has confirmed that the woman has identified one member of the gang who attacked her. She indicated that the accused often visited her neighbour’s house. Moreover, a few days ago, the victim had a small argument with her neighbours and the officials suspect that the incident might have some connection with it.
