Mumbai: 45-year-old ward boy molests trainee doctor during night duty

Amid coronavirus outbreak, several harassment cases against corona warriors like police and doctors have been reported across the country. Another appalling incident came to light in Maharashtra capital Mumbai, where a 30-year-old trainee doctor was molested by a 45-year-old ward boy in a government hospital.

The accused has been identified as Gajendra Gosavi. He has been arrested by the JJ Marg police.


According to a report in Times of India, Gajendra has been booked for molesting a woman, stalking, criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to police, the accused molested the 30-year-old trainee doctor when she was on night duty. However, the accused man fled from the spot after the lady doctor raised an alarmed and informed her seniors.

In a similar incident which was reported in Mumbai on June 20, where a 21-year-old girl was also molested at a quarantine centre. As per the reports, the accused man who worked at the centre allegedly lured the girl telling her family that she was tested positive for COVID-19.
When the victim reached the quarantine centre, the man in inebriated condition locked the girl in a room and molested her.

The Mumbai Police has now filed an FIR based on the statement given by the victim.

The accused was booked under sections 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of IPC.
