MP: Woman brutally gang-raped by four men on the pretext of water

In a horrific incident reported from Madhya Pradesh, a middle-aged woman was brutally gang-raped by four people. An iron rod was also inserted in her private parts.

"The accused came to her house late Saturday night and asked her for water, when she refused, they broke into the shanty and took turns to rape her. The accused before leaving the spot inserted an iron rod in the victim's private parts," police said.


The incident took place on Saturday night, about 40 km from the district police headquarters.

"The woman was in critical condition, there was an internal injury in the genitals, there was a wound of the rod which has now been operated. She is under treatment," Dr. Kalpana Yadav, HOD, GMS, said.

IG Umesh Joga, stated that, "On the complaint of the victim's family, the police registered a case and arrested the four accused. The accused are residents of the same village. Police have registered a case under relevant sections. Two of the accused have identified as accused Lallu Cole, Bhai Lal Patel.

As maintained by the police, the woman’s husband passed away about four years ago and she lived along with her two kids and her sister.

The victim was taken to a primary health centre and then to a district hospital. The victim reached the hospital in an unconscious state and was immediately referred to the Sanjay Gandhi Medical College.

The victim's condition is reported to be serious.

IG Umesh Joga while talking about the incident stated that four accused had been taken into custody and that investigations were underway.
