In a recent development coming in from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal district, a 55-year-old man allegedly raped and murdered his daughter for falling in love and marrying a man of a different caste.

The dead body of the woman and her eight-month son, who died of an illness earlier this month was recovered two days back in Samasgad forest. As per the family, the accused had taken his daughter to the forest to carry out the baby’s last rites.

However, the father and daughter got into an altercation over her marriage, which happened back in 2020. The man then allegedly raped his daughter and strangulated her to death.

The man has confessed to have killed his daughter and has been taken into police custody under sections 302 and 376 of the Indian Penal Code.

Ratibad Station House Officer Sudesh Tiwari stated that the mutilated body of the woman and the infant were found two days back in the woods. When the police began investigating the matter, the dead body was identified as a woman from Bilkisganj in Sehore district.

During interrogation, the police discovered that the family of the deceased had been disappointed after she fled and got married a year ago. When the family was quized, the father confessed to the killing.

According to the victim’s father, the family was taunted by society over her love marriage. She did not come to her parents’ home after marriage because of the same. However, this Diwali, she visited her elder sister’s home. Unfortunately, her baby died of an illness there.

The elder sister called their father to tell him what had happened. He then reached Ratibad with his son, where the incident took place nearly two weeks back.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
