MP: Man marries two women in 5 days; know what he does next

In a filmy incident, a 26-year-old software engineer allegedly married two women in five days in Madhya Pradesh, the police said on Sunday.

After the cheating complaint was filed by one of the women’s family on Saturday, the case came to light.


Meanwhile, police have started the investigation into the matter, police inspector BL Mandloi said.

According to the news agency, PTI reports, the 26-year-old man is on the run after allegedly marrying two women in a week.

The unnamed accused, a resident of Indore, allegedly married one woman in Khandwa on December 2 while he married another woman in Mhow in Indore on December 7, the official said quoting the complaint.

The family of the first victim came to know about the fraudster when one of their family members went to attend a wedding in Indore’s Mhow and sent photographs of the accused man marrying another woman to the family on December 7. It means he tied the knot a second time with another woman.

Later, the Khandwa woman’s family filed a police complaint against the man and seeking an FIR against him.

According to a family of Khandwa’s woman, the family spent Rs 10 lakh on the marriage and on household items that were given to the bride.

The complaint further stated that after marrying the woman in Khandwa, the accused man took her to his place in Indore.

After a few days, he told the woman that he had to go to Bhopal for some important work. He fooled the woman and went to Mhow to marry another woman, the official said.

On December 2, the accused had come for the wedding in Khandwa with his parents, brothers, sister, and other relatives, he said.

When the Khandwa’s woman met another woman whom the accused married in Indore, she told them that her marriage was arranged and not forced.

After December 7, the accused man fled, didn’t return home, and switched off his mobile phone, a police official said.

Meanwhile, the police are searching for the absconded man.
