Madhya Pradesh: 14-year-old girl sets herself ablaze after being gang-raped for over month

In yet another crime reported against a girl who has been sexually harassed over a month in Madhya Pradesh. The shocking case took place in the Betul district of MP where a girl allegedly set herself on fire on Tuesday evening.

The victim decided to set herself on fire after being gang-raped and blackmailed for over a month. She succumbed to her burn injuries in a hospital in Nagpur on Wednesday.


According to her dying declaration that she had given to Betul police, the three accused were arrested.

The deceased was a student of eight class in a district school. She also used to work with a catering firm to support her family and also pay her school fees. Reports in the media claimed that the three accused were her co-workers.

A month back, the three men intruded her house in the evening and the gang-raped her. In her dying statement, the deceased also mentioned that they started harassing her after the incident. She got subdued by the accused and therefore, she didn’t reveal anything to anyone, Times of India reports claimed.
