Hyderabad Shocker: 20-year-old youth killed over 'drinking and smoking' during Ramadan

A 20-year-old youth was murdered in Hyderabad by three Muslim men over smoking and drinking.

The deceased youth has been identified as Shaikh Mohammed, whose body was found in bushes near Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad’s Bhahdurpura, lates on Saturday.


Reportedly, Mohammed had gone out with his three friends and didn’t return.

He was found dead with his throat slit, timesnownews.com reported.

Police informed this heartbreaking news to his grandmother, who lived in Kalapathar after gathering details about the body from locals.

According to the deceased youth’s grandmother said that Shaikh used to live with her and was addicted to alcohol and ganja. She also told Police that a few days ago, he had an argument with two of his friends over the latter not stopping “drinking and smoking” during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, in which people of Islamic faith fast from dawn to dusk and feast after sunset.

As per reports in The Times of India, Sajid and two other persons came to Shaikh’s house on Saturday.

The two men took Shaikh along with them to compromise the matter. After a few hours, Shaikh’s grandmother came to know that he is dead.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Also, police are searching for the three suspects.
