A man allegedly stabbed a hotel proprietor as he refused to serve food outside the hotel premises in Thane. The accused, who was inebriated, allegedly stabbed the victim around 25 times in the Castle Mill area on Friday.

The CCTV recording of the gruesome crime has also gone viral on social media on Sunday. In the video, the victim could be seen trying to protect himself from the accused but failing to do the same.

As maintained by senior inspetor, Rajendra Shirtode at the Rabodi police station, the incident happened at around 4 pm on Friday, when the accused went to the hotel along with his companion.

The accused had gone to the hotel - which serves Chinese food and demanded that his order be served outside the hotel premises. However, the owner of the hotel refused to comply with the accused's demand pointing to restrictions.

Following this, the accused in frenzy of anger allegedly launched an attack on the owner with a sharp edged weapon, as per the Times of India. Reportedly, the accused was carrying the weapon he used to attack the victim. The victim escaped with only injuries even as the accused stabbed him 25 times.

It is suspected that the accused had erstwhile enmity with the owner of the hotel, however, the cops are investigating the claim. The police have filed a case against the accused and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him as soon as possible.
