Chennai shocker: Two men sexually harass lady constable on duty, accused nabbed

In an appalling incident of crime coming in from Chennai, two men made sexual approaches at a lady police constable on duty in Nandanam. According to the most recent development, both the suspects have been arrested for harassing the lady constable. The Teynampet police took the two men into their custody who had allegedly sexually harassed the lady constable.

The lady constable, aged 24, was posted on duty near Nandanam signal on Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar's birth anniversary. During her duty, the lady constable was streamlining the crowd when she saw the duo teasing another women.

Meantime, the lady cop asked them not to indulge in any such activities. After a while, the lady cop again objected to this but both men responded in an outlandish manner and made sexual advances at the lady constable. They went on to say that they are ready to pay her Rs 5,000 in return for sexual favours.

According to a report by the Times of India, the lady constable was irked by this and told her colleagues on duty. Following which a group of male colleagues pulled the two men out of the crowd and handed them to Teynampet police.

In her police complaint, the lady police constable said that the two accused men was drunk and had come along with an organisation. The police team took the duo into their custody and both were remanded in judicial custody.

Following the shocking incident, police lodged a case against both men under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Both the accused have been identified as Vijayapandi, aged 24, a resident of Retteri and Dharmendran, aged 40 and a native of Surapet region.

Furthermore, the report stated that one of the accused (Vijayapandi) is already accused in an attempt to murder case and an NDPS case.
