A viral clip has surfaced of a Tamil Nadu cop brutally beating up a food delivery person. The unfortunate incident took place in Srivilliputhur of Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district.

The victim, identified as Venkatesh is a Zomoto delevery person, he was seen being brutally thrashed by Dharmaraj, a traffic Sub Inspector by profession, in full view of the public. The incident was recorded by onlookers and the video has gone viral.

In the clip, the delevery person is seen holding the policeman’s shoulder patch, and Dharmaraj immediately attacks Venkatesh and starts to brutally beat him up.

The city police have registered a case against the delevery guy (Venkatesh) claiming that he pulled out a knife, threatening the police.

Nevertheless, the clip displays an altercation between Venkatesh and police officer Dharmaraj over a Rs 600 fine. The fine was imposed as the delevery boy reportedly did not have the required vehicle documents.

The locals in the area also pleaded with Dharmaraj to stop thrashing Venkatesh, but he did not hold back. Eventually, a few other policemen stepped in and Venkatesh is seen being taken to the police station.

According to the Srivilliputhur police, Venkatesh threatened Dharmaraj with a knife and have registered a case under sections 294 (b), 353, 307, and 506 (2).

The video of the policeman (Dharmaraj) brutally beating Venkatesh has now gone viral with many criticising police brutality.
