Bengaluru: Denied cup of coffee, husband pours boiling water on wife

A shocking case was reported from Bengaluru where a husband poured boiling water on his wife after she refused to serve him coffee. The incident took place on at their resident in Doddaballapura on 16th April’s afternoon. As per police, the 34-year-old lady has suffered 20% burn.

As per reports, the incident came to light when a woman called the police for help who was referred to Parihar Vanitha Sahayavani (Women’s helpline) at the police commissioner.


BS Saraswathi, senior counsellor at Parihar told that she received the call from the woman who was in grievous pain and narrated the ordeal. On receiving the call they immediately rushed to the spot and took her to the nearby hospital. After treatment doctors said that she is out of danger and has suffered 20% burns.

As per reports, the accuse, a scrap dealer, is facing a severe financial crisis due to the coronavirus lockdown. During noon when the accuse demanded coffee, his wife (victim) refused by saying, she has a lot of work in the kitchen as the maid has stopped coming due to lockdown. After hearing this the man arrived at the kitchen and started arguing with her and in the heat of the argument, he grabbed the vessel wherein water was boiling on the stove and poured it on his wife.

On hearing the woman’s cry the neighbours rushed to her help and did temporary first-aid. The woman then called the police to seek their help amid the lockdown.

The Parihar team then informed her brother who stays a few kilometres away from her. They also advised the victim to approach the police and file a complaint against her husband for this heinous act. Currently, Parihar’s are keeping a close eye on them and are also following the case progress.
