50-year-old man killed by two friends after he refused money for alcohol

In an appalling incident reported from Maharashtra’s Buldhana district, a 50-year-old man ws allegedly killed by his two companions after he refused to give them Rs 10 for alcohol.

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Bhagwat Sitaram Phase, and his accused friends, 40-year-old Vinod Laxman Wankhede and 35-year-old Dilip Tryambak Bodde, went to drink at a alcohol store and asked Rs 10 from him.


The victim, Bhagwat Sitaram Phase declined to pay them the amount, which infuriated the two accused. When Phase was walking out of the store, the two accused launched an attack on him from behind using a wooden stick.

The police took the accused into their custody within an hour of the horrific incident. Phase's dead body was recovered from a pool of blood and police said he sustained a serious head injury from the attack which eventually led to his demise.

As maintained by the police officer Pralhad Katkar, "We were informed on a phone call that a person was lying in a pool of blood at a liquor shop. The person was dead by the time we reached the spot. We arrested the killers within one hour and filed a case of murder against them."
