The MTV VMAs will not be just another glitzy night this year, all thanks to the recent Twitter spat between two international sensations Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. And Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian had to join in.
Not so surprisingly, Taylor Swift has won the maximum nominations at MTV VMA 2015, including video of the year for Bad Blood. However, Nicki Minaj, who has also bagged nominations in various categories, seemed a tad displeased with MTV's arrangement of the nominations. As soon as the nominees were announced, Minaj took to Twitter and expressed her dissent while Swift made it a point to answer her, resulting in quite the dramatic exchange on social media.
However, seems like Swift has taken a step back as she apologised to Minaj. Her latest tweet reads:
I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ

Taylor Swift vs Nicki Minaj on Twitter
Here's how Minaj used her words to suggest that MTV is biased towards 'white' artists with 'slim bodies,' and Swift's response to it: >
@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..

Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13

Oh but trust me. I'll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda. ðððððððððððððððððððððððððððððððð

I'm not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it. https://t.co/2xOvJzBXJX

Nothing I said had to do with Taylor. So what jabs? White media and their tactics. So sad. That's what they want. https://t.co/AfcwoyDvpg

Katy Perry brings in her own POV
Perry had a say and mentioned Rihanna in her tweet. Her post firmly questioned the inclusion of Rihanna's controversial video Bitch Better Have My Money in the nominations. She posted:
Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman...

The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1... @MTV

And Kim Kardashian had a significant point to make
MTV VMA, in its history, has never been too-plain-an-event. The stage has witnessed many controversies. Kim Kardashian reminded everyone just that. Her husband, rapper Kanye West jumped up on stage at the 2009 VMAs, took the microphone from Swift who had just received the award for Best Female Video and gave a speech that's become known as the 'Imma let you finish' speech.
Therefore, the lady posted:
However, even Kim took her words back by claiming that taking a dig at someone is just not her style. Replacing the caption, Kim posted:
I'm not trying to shade anyone! That's not my style! I just thought that caption was perfect for that pic! Changing the caption now! #ironic
