Watch: The first trailer of Suicide Squad looks even more amazing than expected

Ladies, gents and DC Comic nerds of the world, rise. For if the first trailer of Suicide Squad is anything to go by, it is going to be epic.

The baddies of your nightmares have come together for the David Ayer-directed, Suicide Squad.

Starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as the bat-wielding lunatic Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc (who literally eats people), Jai Courtney as Captain Boomrang and a whole lot of other crazies.

The government (hello Viola Davis!) needs help and they turn to the worst of the worst they had in store - villains who nobody would miss if they never came back. The Suicide Squad. Get it? Cool.

Now let's move on the other question that's been burning a hole through our souls. Where does The Joker, played by the gorgeous Jared Leto, figure in this scheme of things? Is he in on the Squad? All the trailer tells us is that Jared's picking up multiple awards for this film. #SuchCoolMuchDrool

The film has been produced by Warner Bros' Pictures, and is expected to release on August 5, 2016.
