Alicia Silverstone files for divorce from husband Chris Jarecki after 20 years together
Alicia Silverstone, an American actress filed from her husband, Chris Jarecki. The couple announced the split three months before, they were together for two decades and married for 13 years. They got married in June 2005.
She filed divorce on Friday afternoon and the documents list the date of separation as March 15, 2016, days before their 11th anniversary. The reason for their split is "irreconcilable differences."
The actress has also requested for a joint legal and physical custody of their 7-year-old son Bear Blue. The couple announced their spilt in February.
"They still deeply love and respect each other and remain very close friends but have mutually decided to separate after being together for 20 years," Silverstone's representative said in a statement to E! News. "They have a son together who they will continue to co-parent."
Silverstone is known for her roles in Batman & Robin (1997). Last year, she appeared in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, The Killing of a Sacred Deer and The Tribes of Palos Verdes.
Silverstone was also there in the Paramount Network's upcoming 1970s-set series American Woman, which debuts on June 7.
Silverstone and Jareck went vegan together, leading to Silverstone's second career as a cookbook author. She has published two: 2009's The Kind Diet, followed by a vegan pregnancy guide, The Kind Mama, in 2014.
