The Tiger Memon Pakistan arrested wasn't the 1993 Mumbai blast mastermind but an online stalker

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) of Pakistan have arrested a fake Tiger Memon during its raid in old city area of Karachi.

The arrested person is accused of using a fake ID for harassing girls on social networking websites.

Why the arrest?

  • The arrest was made following a complaint registered by a person named Mohsin. He had complained against the accused for harassing a girl on Facebook. The FIA spokesperson said that besides harassing the girl, the accused was also threatening her of dire consequences and was sending her 'immoral and unethical' messages.

Who is the accused?

  • The accused has been identified as Furqan Aslam. He was using the name of Ibrahim Mushtaq Abul Razzak Nadim Memon alias Tiger Memon. Tiger is wanted in India in connection with 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
  • The FIA has registered an FIR against him for harassing and threatening the girl. The officials have also confiscated his computer and a mobile phone that he was using for harassing the girl and initiated further investigations.
