UEFA Champions League: Manchester City, Atletico Madrid look to seal quarterfinal places

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 14 February 2017, 5:56 IST

English club Manchester City will aim to make it to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history, when they take on Dynamo Kyiv in the second leg of their Round of 16 clash on Tuesday, 15 March.

City won the first leg 3-1 in Kiev, and will need to avoid defeat by more than two goals to progress to the next round.

With the club already out of the FA Cup, and 12 points behind leaders Leicester City, the onus will be on the Manuel Pellegrini-coached side to continue the surge for a major title.

On the other hand, 2014 runners-up Atletico Madrid will host Dutch champions PSV in the second leg at home, having come away from Eindhoven with a goalless first leg draw last month.

While Atletico have won their last four games in the league, PSV have been unbeaten in their last seven in all competitions. However, the Spanish side will hope to continue their good run of form at home and avoid an upset.

1st leg results

Dynamo Kyiv 1-3 Manchester City

PSV 0-0 Atletico Madrid
